10 ways to get traffic to your blog

Blogs are popular ways to create an online presence for personal and business reasons. You can build a blog for free and begin posting content right away. But,what good is that content if no one is reading it. Here are ten ideas to bring in the traffic your blog needs to survive.
Of all the successful blogs on the Internet, hundreds more have failed. Running a blog is like running a business website. Unless you are willing to put the time in and treat it seriously, you won’t be blogging long.
That is not to say that the failed bloggers weren’t serious about blogging. Mostly, new bloggers aren’t prepared for the work that goes into creating a successful blog. Just building the blog doesn’t mean that people will necessary come to you. You pursue the audience and give them a reason to see what you have to say.
1.    Fresh Content – no one wants to visit a blog day after day and see the same posts. Update your blog content at least twice a week. This will be easier if you write several posts ahead of time and upload them at the appropriate times.
2.    Article Marketing – the niche you’ve chosen for your blog is one that interests you. If it is interesting you will spend more time doing it. Create content not only for your blog but also to be submitted to article directories. Use the resource box to advertise your blog so people can find you.
3.    Social Networking – these sites are everywhere. Join Facebook,MySpace,Squidoo,Twitter or a dozen others and make connections. You can join groups of likeminded people who are also bloggers or entrepreneurs.
4.    Viral Marketing – this is where you spread the word about your blog. Talk to friends, family and even strangers. Give out business cards that have your blog address on them.
5.    Use RSS Feeds – RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication.” Readers can subscribe to your feed and get email updates when new content is posted. It is an easy way for them to keep up with your blog without spending all day online.
6.    Submit Blog to Search Engines – doing this allows your blog to be ranked. Google and Yahoo! are two of the most popular search engines you want to crawl your blog pages. It doesn’t guarantee top ranking, though. You’ll have to do a little more work for that.
7.    Joining Forums – as a blogger you are a budding entrepreneur. Right now you are marketing yourself to find traffic and then profit. Become a member of business forums, work at home forums and others to meet new people and share ideas. You can add a link to your blog in the signature line so others can find you.
8.    Visit other blogs – show your appreciation to those who visit you by also posting comments on their blogs. It is a kindness that shows others you are not just out to advertise your blog alone. Add links to your blog in your comments.
9.    SEO Marketing – whatever you write, use relevant keywords. Keyword density between three and ten percent is good for getting higher page rankings in search engines. Base your keywords on a research you do to find the most popular words used in search engines for your niche.
10.    Social Bookmarking – submitting posts to social bookmarking sites allows others who are members of those sites to track you back to your blog.
Using any of these ideas will start the traffic moving in your direction. It takes time but you will build the readership you want.

Freelancing could be for you?

If you ever heard and want to know if freelancing could be for you, check this post Web Design . It is about web designing but it can apply to any other type of freelancing job such as writing, doing odd jobs or anything you may have skill on. Check it out.

I talked about freelancing before on the blog, you can certainly check out that post here. Freelancing is one way to quickly make money, while your business is taking off. The web designer I work with, are freelancers, and they do damm good job, but do not charge arm and legs for it. Best way to find a freelancer or freelance work is though elance and other sites where you can post or look for right person or job for you.

Craigslist also seems to work for freelancing occasionally but since craigslist has every possible posting, it tends to get buried. But try it there as well, as you can not beat free posting.

How to start a business yourself:

If you ever need to write up a business plan in your life, this article might be helpful, check it out Home Business Plans for Moms Best thing I did was to start my business when I started making some money from my blogging, as my spending was increasing, I was able to deduct some business expense with help of my financial advisor. Having a clear idea about what you want to do surely helps. But I had not clear idea on what I want to do, or should I say, I had too many ideas and not enough hours to follow through it.

Thinking about business plan forced me to focus on realistic goals and still keep some of my dreams in check and some on hold. Even If you are scatter brain like me having right business plan will help, if you are better than me and organized then surely you are already step ahead of me, where I was. So, go ahead, make your dream come true and work for yourself. What are you waiting for. Now with economy down, many of my friends turning to business or some sort. It does not have be blogging, it could be pet business, baby sitting, cooking for busy working family and so on.

If you ever need to set up a business, I recommend going through Legal Zoom, they are one of the best. Setting up business yourself is possible, but laws are so tedious and depend on which state you live in, things can go complicated. Just save yourself some stress and go with legal zoom as I have done it. I believe you will save yourself your precious time and have all ready and in nice leather binder document mailed to you as they did with mine. Good luck

Is sitesell scam? How to make money with sitesell

Let's get this, starting a blog can be overwhelming sometimes. You can start with free blogger platform or host it on your site. Hosting on your site has benefits but can be overwhelming to set everything.

Starting a blog was overwhelming for me in the beginning, I simply did not know what hosting, word press, jhoomla, html meant or I like to believe myself to be smart but I am simply not technical enough to set all up. I tried hiring web expert to help me, they just simply charged too much. Until much later, I found one of the best and friendliest web design team who listened patiently to my silly questions and answered them without making me feel bad. They helped me get  started first.

At the start before my self hosting days, someone told me about sitesell, they set up a website and design and plugins (technical behind the scene part) and all I had to do was writing, which I knew I could do. But I like to always research before buying or trying anything, so should you. I found that many people thought sitesell was a scam and stay away from it. It was hopeless for me, as I did not want to fall for scam in the beginning of my blogging career, if there was any left.

That night, I went to sleep feeling down and sad. I prayed to god (yes, I do believe in God) to show me the way. and I was finally able to sleep. Next day when I went out for lunch with a friend, she introduced me a new person and we started talking about making more money as our job was barely paying bills. That new person said that she has a site from sitesell about crafting, which she loved and she was making about $220 per month on side for now. One day she thought of making enough money so she can quit her job. So, I told her, wait I thought it is a scam.

She told me, some people do feel that it is scam as you have to pay $300 plus dollars per year, but she says she makes over 2500 a year now, so there is profit for her. I asked her how long she was doing it as I thought it was beginner luck for her. But she said she was doing for 10 months. She also told me, there is no easy money, you will have to work hard and provide value in anything you do and eventually will make money.
God really answered my prayers and with her help, I signed up under her my very first site and I did not make money for some time but after 4 months or so, I made a little money and it was all passive. Meaning, my hard work was working and paying me when I was not working on site also.

Since then I have moved on and I also use self hosted blog too but I have kept one sitesell site still and it is making me $319 last month. Find out if that is right for you or not. Sitesell surely is not a scam as it is working for many people, it might work for you, only you can tell.

check it out here Leave Site Building for reasonable price. Hope you find it useful.

You can start your business and make money dropshipping . So, what is dropshipping? In simple terms dropshipping is you find customer who wants to buy product x, and when customer pays you money for it, you just tell vender B that send a product to customer's address. Vendor has product, stores in his storage, garage whereever, they ship it and you make a big bucks after paying vendor company some amount. One thing I like about it is, that I do not have to store the product in my gargae, or go to post office to ship it. I can do it all from my home. You do not even need to be expert, world wide brand has all tools and help you need. While I am far from expert on dropshipping, I am making little money.

Always do due dilligent research and keep motivation while you are waiting to make money. That is hard part for me.
